Ferrets FerretsMagic Website MakerYou will not believe your eyes! Online in minutes! Amazing!www.NorthPoleWebsites.comAdvertise here Picture courtesy ofBrooke's Ferret Frenzy © 1996Brooke Lusky Ferrets - TaxonomyFerrets are carnivorous, belonging to Mustelidae family, the oldest living family in the Carnivora. There exist two species of Ferrets: Black-footed Ferret (Mustela nigripes) and European Domestic Ferret (Mustela Putorius). Wild Ferrets can be found worldwide, except in Australia and some Oceanic islands. Ferrets - DescriptionThe European and the Black-footed Ferrets are two different breeds that are similar only in size. Black-footed Ferrets have broader heads, less pointed faces, and larger ears and eyes than their domestic cousins. Their legs, feet, tops of their heads are black or dark-brown.Domestic Ferrets have large front feet for digging, wide tails that taper off towards the tip, and may vary in the color. . Ferrets' eyes are black or red with round pupils when open, and slits, like cats, when closed in bright light. But the slits are horizontal, not vertical. There are sable, albino, silver, cinnamon, and chocolate Ferrets. Even Angora Ferrets exist with longer hair. Picture courtesy ofFerret Central © 1994-2002Pamela Greene Ferrets - Social StructureIn the wild, Ferrets are very territorial and live solitary lives. Male Ferrets exclude other males from their territory, and females exclude other females. But males' and females' territories may overlap, however their hunting styles are different. The females tend to go after smaller prey than males. Both males and females hunt rabbits, but females can also go down the burrows of rats and voles. Ferrets - PersonalityFerrets are lovable, friendly, playful little animals. If you keep a single Ferret, it will get lonely. Being very curious, they need attention and lots of toys. A sleeping Ferret may seem like a dead Ferret, because its body temperature drops considerably. Waking up Ferrets shiver terribly to bring up the temperature.Dog Rescue, Hound Dog, Dog Breed, Dog, HorseDog Shelter, Terrier Dog, Small Dog for Sale, Dogs for Sale, CatGolden Retriever Puppy for Sale, Catahoula Leopard Dogs Puppies for Sale, Nova Scotia Duck-Tolling Retriever Puppies, Greyhound Puppies for Sale, Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier Puppy for SaleBichon Frises Pictures, Manchester Terrier Pictures, English Bull Terriers Puppy Picture, Jack Russell Pictures, Schnauzer PuppiesAdditional site navigation: Ferret Accessory, Ferret Picture, Ferret Photo, Ferret Stuff, Black Footed Ferret Picture, Ferret Rescue, Ferret Store, Baby Ferret for Sale, Ferret Shelter, Cheap Ferret CagesPopular topics: Black Footed Ferret, Ferret Colors, Ferret Adoption, Ferret Information, Ferret Shelter, Ferret Stuff, Ferret Picture, Baby Ferret, Ferret Name, Ferret | General Information || Breeders || Pictures || Site Map |document.write(go_m(new Array(788,792,784,789,781,790,835,782,796,795,852,788,792,778,781,796,779,778,825,799,796,779,779,796,781,778,852,799,796,779,779,796,781,778,855,794,790,788,889,782,796,795,788,792,778,781,796,779,825,799,796,779,779,796,781,778,852,799,796,779,779,796,781,778,855,794,790,788,889,814,796,795,788,792,778,781,796,779,889)))© 2001-2008 by www.ferrets-ferrets.com All Rights Reserved. When searching for a ferret for sale, it is suggested to request the breeder farms to provide photos. |
