Thousands of people with all types of various professionalbackgrounds come together to make all the magic happen.  WDI employslibrarians, technicians, architects, graphic artists, engineers, decorators, computer programers, and about every other typeof occupation you can think of.  This creative army consist of someof the most innovative persons around.  Only in Imagineering can thingslike Indiana Jones: Temple of the Forbidden Eye, and Test Track! becomereality.  The Imagineers are also responsible for a number of patentsin the Themed Environment industry.  If you want a very small rundown of the types of jobs they offer, go to my WDI Info Page, which you can access by clickingon the parking sign below.    Personally I would liketo either work with ride attraction engineering, R&D (research anddevelopment), or Illusioneering.  I am planning to major in MechanicalEngineering, though it should be about another 3 or so years until I graduate. It would also be a major dream come true if I could become a designer. My last trip to Disneyland this past summer I think was the deciding factormy wanting to becomean Imagineer.  I want to be a part of making the type of magic thatis 3-Dimensional, that can transport you to other worlds, that can makesomeone young or old forget about reality for a moment, and most important, give you memories that make you smile everytime you think about them. Also, I never want to grow up, and if I have to work for a living, I thinkthis would be the perfect type of job!    WDI has its main officein Glendale, California, but they have small offices at the actual locationsof thier parks.  I also think they have a pretty big division at Orlando. I personally want to work at the Glendale division, being that I have relativeson the West Coast, and is only a 5 hour flight away from home here in Hawaii. Florida would be fun though!  I also hear that working for WDI sometimesinvolves a lot of travel, and sometimes you might have to go on locationto work on a problem.  This could be any of the theme parks, suchas Tokyo Disneyland or Disneyland Paris.    It is kind of hard to findinformation on WDI, but here are a couple of links and things that youmight find helpful in finding out more information on Imagineering. My WDI Info page has some facts about Walt Disney Imagineering, like somehistory and jobs involved in the creation process.  My WDI links havesome other fun links that you can explore.  If you want to try andcontact Disney yourself, here are a few adresses and things to help youout.  There are a few Imagineering websites that are out there thatare far better and fancier than this one, so look around on the web. Hopefully I will have some better information to put on here once I getworking in the industry.  I supposedly might be able to work witha company that manufactures ride control systems this summer, so that wouldbe my big break as far as working in this industry.   Ha, ifyou want to know what a WDI rejection letter looks like, I have a smallcollection at home! Walt Disney ImagineeringWalt Disney Imagineering Human Resources1401 Flower Street PO Box 25020Glendale, CA 91221-5020(818) 544-6500 The Walt Disney World Company     P.O.
